It really is the perfect underdog story..

A physically unimposing 28 year old who bounced around low level clubs and was underestimated his whole career now given opportunity of a lifetime by an ambitious new coach.

Although the path to get here was not easy, Jasir never lost confidence in himself and when chance presented itself, he grabbed it with both hands. In just 7 matches, he has shocked the entire world of football with his accomplishments, while carving out his name amongst the absolute LEGENDS of Albanian football.

Jasir Asani is an inspiration for all those athletes who have been told that they are not tall enough, not strong enough, and not good enough to make it on the big stage. He has the heart of a 🦁 and is the ultimate personification of the true Albanian spirit!

This is what movies are made of!

Asani has been impressive, especially because he came out of nowhere at 28 years old. However, Bajrami is definitely our best player. He's just class. Composure, heart, technique, vision. He's got it all. I'm glad he was able to put it all together because he did not have a very good start with the NT. It looks like the Sassuolo move has done him wonders.

It is simple - he brought us this qualification and it's more than a lucky goal. He has been good in every single game including the ones that he didn't score in.

He changed everything for us. His goals and assists gave us wins but also momentum to play from in front. The goals were made from nothing which is even more significant because they all came against the run of play.

He has put in the best qualifying performance of any Albanian player in history.
He also won the ball for Bajrami to score the tying goal away at Czechia. By far the best performance of any plyers in our history to get us to qualify.

Asani has contributed the most in this campaign, but it's a pretty big stretch to call him the greatest Albanian player. Pretty sure Cana takes that mantle.

Let's not forget this is the most talented Albania we've ever seen. Cana was the captain of Albania when we would beat Norway away with a Bulku assist and Salihi goal.

Cana is forsure our greatest player but in terms of our greatest offensive player in the last 20 years Asani takes that title. If he scores a goal at the Euros that will only solidify that position. Asani, Broja, Bajrami and Muci are the ones that can take Albania's attack to levels we have never seen before.

Asani > Bogu, Tare, Roshi, Sadiku, Skela in terms of effectiveness in our offense in the last 20 years.

For sure, it is not professional.
However, you can argue that patriotism has been one of the main drives towards the improvements of the NT.
There are a lot of examples, like the Patriotic songs (Mora fjale).
The Team is playing with more desire, determination recently.

If we beat Greece or Serbia, we already won the EURO!

Matchups like these are what every fan and every player dreams of!

It goes without saying, don’t think there’s not a single albanian who doesn’t wanna smash both those cunts but players can’t be saying shit like that out loud.

This is the type of mentality that led to a 2-0 home loss in Elbasan back in 2015. This is football and you play by different rules.

Football 101: Talk shit after you win the game but not before.
