I am against both suspensions!
That being said, Germany has “laws” banning hate speech.
What Daku did was way worse!
Demiral got suspended for the equivalent of an Albanian doing the eagle!

How can it be equivalent of doing the eagle? Turks killed millions of Armenians and Christians during first WW.Princ wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 3:24 pmI am against both suspensions!

Demiral has every right to be proud of his identity as a Turk!
It was not a political symbol he made, but a Turkish nationalist symbol!
Just as the eagle is an Albanian nationalist symbol..
Yes, if an Albanian organization would start killing innocent ppl of other ethnicities in the name of nationalism and would have the eagle hand gesture as their symbol, then normal Albanians wouldn't want to associate with it and it would become problematic. That won't happen though as the eagle hand gesture has no historical meaning and is associated to the albanian flag. The wolf salute should be compared to the serb three fingers and nazi salutes. They all have hateful meanings in them.Princ wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 12:41 am https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_salute
The wolf gesture does not belong to that group..
It has been used by Turks for centuries!
Imagine if a political organization started doing the Albanian eagle..
Would that mean an Albanian player deserves a suspension for doing it too?
What possible offers could he have had that got hurt by his Euro resutls?Dallku wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 4:59 pm Looks like Sylvinho will stay.
Ironically, doing favors in the Euros actually hurt him from getting offers. He hurt himself more.
