This is a good lesson for FSHF to be more aggressive in cap locking players. Bajrami has been getting called up for YEARS but buried on the bench. All they had to do is give him a minute here and there to avoid this.

Bajrami might not be a great loss but better players than him could do the same. Medon Berisha for example needs to be cap tied.

Medon Berisha has already been captied one year ago.
Adrian Bajrami is kinda a loss and I understand his frustration. He is very talented but we should not forget he played for Benficas B team until 23 while Gjimshiti, even a longterm injured Kumbulla, Ajeti, Ismajli were all above. He is a similar type of player like Hajdari only a bit worse.

1. Maybe Switzerland has interest out to redemption bc of Kosova taking two of their talents (highly believe Hajdari is a done case) which I definitely believe Murat Yakin and Swiss FA would do this.

Or

2. He just got mad for being the 5th choice and offered himself out. Because I can no where find a Swiss statement about this issue yet. Keep in mind at Swiss NT despite them naturalizing two players with Swiss roots, he would also have no role there to play due to high competition. There is no place before Akanji, Amenda, Elvedi etc.

You can clearly put the blame on Sylvinho, Reja or more certainly FSHF, however if someone wants to leave his motherland for Switzerland let them. You all know what did happen to players like Mergim Berisha, Andi Zeqiri, Uran Bislimi, Elvis Kabashi and so on. FSHF needs to take this as a wake up call and try to find a solution for longterm on it.

Bajrami isn't an amateur like someone Fidan Aliti. Bajrami does seem to have some potential and he was kind of punished playing an Benefica which is a very good team and very ruthless in terms of player development.

It still is a very stupid decision by him because he was the next in line at the Center back position. Him and Kumbulla would have ideally been the long term pairing after this world cup cycle. I can't even blame FSHF too much because they have been calling him up despite him being a reserve player. It's just an unfortunate situation.

Well, I‘m certain that his chances for Swiss Team are even more slim. Akanji will play up to 35. Amenda and Elvedi, Zesinger are also highrated there. It‘s a pity, yes. He has potential. But starting a professional career by 23 is also selfexplainable. His perfomances are not great and not bad either at Lucerne but if that‘s enough to play for Switzerland, then this only shows their level. I strongly believe that he will come back begging any time soon.

Decent players come and go. If he wants to be a coward let him be. Funny how there is no article about this from Swiss media so far.

Duka and Sylvinho deserve the blame, the whole FA deserves it, but betrayal has no excuse in the end. Sylvinho and Duka might leave soon. However the eagle on the dress stays. Nuk nderrohet Kombesia - nuk shitet Shqiptaria.

I hope people don't start overrating Bajrami now that he rejected Albania, acting like he's the 2nd coming of Maldini, because in the past 3 years he was called up NOBODY ever put him in their lineup or suggested that he should play. Benfica treated him like a make-a-wish youth player not a real talent. For the u-21 he was also average.

It's not even clear if this guy would ever be good enough to start for us let alone Switzerland. Let him walk.

When he eventually tries to switch back I hope they shut the door on him.

Well, it's a wtf decision, because we want these diaspora kids to come and play for Albania. They deserve the utmost respect regardless if they have the potential to be world beaters or just decent players in the future.

If you look at Albania’s player pool the only professional center back under 30 is Kumbulla. Bajrami would eventually be a shoe in to start sooner than later for Albania. It’s not that we think he’s Maldini it’s that we literally don’t have anyone else in the ranks.

Swiss are smart because it’s a low risk high reward kind of poach for them. They don’t even have to play him. Maybe he has a breakout season and transfers to Germany or Italy like Hajdari did. But this gives them a 1-2 year period where they can evaluate Bajrami and if he flops Bajrami will probably just come back to Albania or play for Macedonia.

And if Kosovo can snag Hajdari that would be huge. Their biggest holes that have paralyzed them over the past few years have been fixed.

Even Enea Mihaj was ahead of Bajrami in the pecking order. Because at least one of them was a starter in the Portuguese league while the other was struggling in the 2nd division with the Benfica second team.

Bajrami was never going to start. Let's be real. Even for the future nothing indicates that he's a good player with potential. For the u21 he was very mid. One game he missed (against Swiss u21 ironically), Albania won. In the other games they got hammered because of his mistakes. Even Elmando Gjini was better than him.
