That's silly. Besiktas is still bigger and better than 99% of clubs other Albanian players play for.

I'm more concerned that he might fail there too. This is it for him. If he fails at Besiktas the next step is sivaspor and shit like that.

The problem is we need someone who is comfortable pinging the ball around and whilst those two are great players they aren't the best circulators of the ball. So we probably still need Asllani to play.

Besiktas is a risky move because its not that easy to keep your spot for a team like that. I would say the pressure is actually higher than playing for a relegation Serie A team because a big team like Besiktas will replace you if you aren't performing well.

It could be a big problem if he ends up being benched there too, although I think he will always have a market in Italy or Spain.

Can you imagine Lecce signing players like Ndidi, Cerny, Kokcu, Under, mamardashvili??? It's a different level of expectations and pressure like you mentioned.

Lets not pretend like that Asllani is still not the best midfielder. Albania made the playoffs because of him playing every single minute and Shehu taking Ramadani's spot.

Of course Besiktas is a better team. That's almost the problem. He has to play well to hold down a spot there. I think he can do it for sure, but there is a chance he doesn't perform and they don't want to keep him.

And then having already left the top5 leagues he would be benched. Although I think if he isn't in bad form he is good enough to lock down a starting spot.

I don't agree with what was said above that its a backwards step because no good team from the top5 leagues was probably interested. His choices were probably bottom half Italian or Spanish teams. If he performs for Besiktas and especially if he performs in Europe he can always make his way back to a good European team, its just a big if because there is also a big risk if he plays badly.
