Didn't even realize Teuta already played.

The potato quality of the video makes it look like it's from the 1980'sPrinc wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 8:01 pm I will never forget when Plaku scored a beautiful winner against Hungarian champions Debrecen in Korce. What a match, what an atmosphere.
Good to see him still being productive at the twilight of his career.

People underrate Superliga because we don't have a Dinamo Zagreb or Red Star level team. If Albania was part of Yugoslavia, or some other big state, the capital teams like Tirana/Partizani/Dinamo would be 3-4x times stronger than they are now.
Some of these small Balkan states benefited from having funds of a 20+ million country go to 3-4 clubs. The rest of the teams are at best incrementally stronger as a trickle down effect from the top teams.

Idk about that when every year Albanian clubs prove to be some of the worst in Europe by always getting bounced in the early rounds. Right now Albanian league is ranked 41st in Europe, below leagues like Liechtenstein, Latvia, Macedonia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, etc.Aurora Bulkualis wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 3:29 am

This is why I always said and will always say that Skenderbeu was the best thing to ever happen to the Albanian league.

Then why weren’t Bosnian, Macedonian and Slovenian teams good?Aurora Bulkualis wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 3:29 amPeople underrate Superliga because we don't have a Dinamo Zagreb or Red Star level team. Like Dallku said we’re one of the worst rated leagues in Europe. We gave Teuta a pass because the Moldovan team was better and expected to win. We don’t even expect to beat Moldovan teams.
I do think there’s some talent in the league but unfortunately clubs are so mismanaged that the league will never improve. You can’t expect teams to qualify if each year half their squad gets replaced, managers get sacked after a few month, youth development an after thought, etc. Just look at Partizani who lost their entire starting lineup in the summer of course they will get smashed by Basel.
The league does need a team like Skenderbeu since they will raise the bar of the league. Maybe it will prevent a team like Partizani from getting rid of their entire starting lineup.

Ultimately what it comes down to, having one dominant team is very important for a small country like Albania. Maybe the most important thing.
Reasons:
- Forces other teams in the league to chase them and forces them to get serious if they want to compete. Right now shit teams like Teuta and Terbuni think they can win the league without doing anything and they are right. That's a big problem though because they get embarrassed when they enter Europe.
- Improves Albania's coefficient which could lead to easier routes for other teams in the league to qualify for tournaments.
- Boosts Albania's image. When you enter tournaments and compete with the elite, you obviously make a good impression and gain respect. Also boosts your confidence and makes young Albanian youth think they have a chance.
- Having one dominant team obviously helps the NT for many reasons.
- Creates interest and rivalries within the league. When Skenderbeu was strong everyone hated them and wanted to beat them. Fans fighting, taking buses to go to away games, etc.. Now fans fighting may seem bad but it's actually good. More interest = more money. Things like that create a chain affect which could lead to more investments, increased tv rights and all that could make clubs more money.
The Tirana derby is the most important thing right now but it's based on forced nostalgia not actual events. It's fake forced hate.

Laci is pretty good at counter attacks. When they steal the ball they are off.
