Remember it started well against Belarus 2-0

Too many games in a short time for players who already lack fitness. Hysaj without a club having to play 3 games in less than two weeks is insane. He was struggling to control a basic ball. Even Pilos who regularly plays at his club ran out of batteries in the 2nd half. Maybe Maran needs to do better at rotating but this kind of schedule is rare. Hopefully it doesn't happen in the qualifiers.

We played like shit most of the time under Sylvinho too, but I noticed Sylvinho we got lucky with those long range shots.

A useless player like Asani scoring 2 long range goals against Czechs and Poland, and Bajrami also scoring a long range goal against Czech Republic when we got completely outplayed.

The issue is the luck ran out and we couldn't cope anymore.

Baggio in those days was scoring on the best teams in Serie A..

Everyone hypes Muci and yeah he’s ok but he’s not what Baggio was..

Muci is a good shooter but so was Baggio..

The difference is our counter attacks with Baggio were the most dangerous I seen EVER..

Once Baggio fell off, so did our counter attacking game..

The players looked up to Sylvinho..

He had an impressive run as a player and gave them the confidence to look eye to eye with anyone..

Most importantly, he got them playing one for all, all for one. Making the right pass at the right time. Being unselfish!

Under Maran, it looks a lot like how it did under Reja.. every man for himself. Whoever scores, takes all the glory..

When on earth did that happen?? With Sylvinho everyone was just as selfish as they are now. Maybe even more. There were no combinations or passes happening. Where did you see that?

It was all individual/selfish actions that qualified Albania. That's how the Asani and Bajrami goals happened. Manaj was always selfish and so was Arber Hoxha. That's the type of players you have and no coach can change that. Their club careers going downhill reflect that.

Even in the playoff at Poland you saw how many chances were created by passing to the open man..

Another good example is the 3-0 win over Czechia..

Both Seferi goals were from good passes finding him wide open with an empty net..

I don’t know if you remember but in Reja’s day Keidi Bare would have the numbers on a breakaway and take a long shot himself miss by a mile..

In Maran’s day, Manaj tries to body Muci as he barely gets off the shot..

In Sylvinho's day Manaj stopped Asllani from taking a penalty against Serbia because his ego came first. It was after he missed and was bullied by fans that he started letting him take pens.

The rest is revisionist history. Czechs were down to 10 men and still pushed their whole team forward that's why there were so many chances for attacks and tapins. Other matches weren't like that.

The biggest criticism fans had for Sylvinho is that the attack was dry. It was all backwards and sideways passes and attack was an individual play here and there.

Ironically, under Maran Albania is creating more chances. Just can't finish because Manaj and Daku are so horrible. Even against Finland with 10 men Albania created more chances than them.

You were just complaining the other day about the backwards and sideways passing that led to Berisha getting sent off..

This is under Maran btw where you couldn’t score a goal against Luxembourg and Israel at home!

That's something ingrained in the DNA of the players after 4 years of Sylvinho terrorism. It's not something you can eliminate over night but there are still improvements under Maran. Sure they still pass backwards a lot but the attack is more active, there are more crosses and you even see fullbacks overlapping.

Luxembourg and Israel were irrelevant June friendlies and he obviously didn't know the team. That was Sylvinho's product on the field. Maran's product was Belarus and Finland and it was promising ngl.
