So he's not wrong because Broja is a bit selfish and is lazy without the ball (doesn't press or make efforts to make runs) but Reja also should be investigated as the worst version of Broja is still twice as good as Cikaleshi or whatever lame striker Reja has been playing. Even an incompetent coach like Panucci (who we probably were to harsh on) would have played Broja, Balliu, Bajrami, Asllani, Uzuini, etc

He's just a bitter old man. Instead of mentoring Broja and getting the best out of him (any reasonable coach would be doing that) he openly feuds with him.

Nah him tagging foreigners like Broja and Osimen as lazy and selfish while saying the Italian is the perfect player perpetuates stereotypes that I believe he holds. Not the first time he's lowered Albanians.

Also Broja and Osimen are very different players. Osimen's best ability imo is his aerial threat that Broja doesnt posses. Osimen isnt selfish at all.

Broja is English born and doesn't have the same mentality and inferiority complex as Albanian born players. Reja couldn't probably handle him as he wasn't groveling to Reja for his position.

Broja mentioned in one of his interviews that when he first got called up by Albania as a 15yo they told him he wasn't good enough and he had decided not to come back. He only came back after his father implored him to do so. And he's got a point to prove which may impact his performance/thinking. I doubt Reja ever sat with him to hash these things out and just took an old school approach to bench him to teach him a lesson.

When Reja did not start him, he got his mommy involved. Even veterans like Hysaj have came out and criticized him for playing like a momma boy.

Notice how everything Broja says has to do with mommy or daddy?

Young son does not have a mind of his own. Only knows what his parents have spoon fed him..

Reja and his assistants were recommending and praising Broja left and right to other clubs not that long ago..

Even if Reja is right that's irrelevant. As an Albania ambassador you should only be boosting Albanian players to clubs but I guess since he's practically out all bets are off so he can be salty now.

It's not that Broja is selfish btw. He's just a bad decision maker with a low work rate. People say he doesn't pass but at Chelsea there were chances where he had a lot of space in front of him and instead of bulldozing through(like he's capable of) he plays it backwards. That's just bad decision making and insecurity.

I thought being on the bench at Chelsea was going to be good for him but honestly it doesn't seem like it. He can only get better by playing. That's how that decision making gets improved too. A loan to Everton would've been golden. Too bad.
