I don't know if it was written here but Switzerland did end up capping Adrian Bajrami, they gave him a few minutes in one of their group stage games vs Slovenia.

Such a shame that he agreed to be cap locked knowing most likely he will never play for them again. There's a fair chance he could have been a starter here if things went his way or at least part of the regular rotation.

Tbh I think this is pretty low from Switzerland, picking at our reserves to poach them is hilarious, not even our bench player. A player who they know they will never actually need and simply capping him for the sake of it in case a miracle happens.

It's a loss for now because we don't have many young options at that spot and generally a team like Albania should always be desperate for players with some potential. For now it's fine and maybe in a few years we can poach some others to take his spot but Bajrami was an insurance policy in case we can't find anyone. We don't need to have a superliga guy starting.

But that being said it's all Bajrami's fault. He's the dumbass for thinking he can be a Switerzland center back. He was literally being groomed to be the replacement for the current crop of CB's we have and it would have been soon since Gymcity and Ajeti are old.

Muriqi 2nd highest scorer in La Liga, only after Mbappe. He's ahead of Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Kumbulla was back today too.

So looks like Kurtulan probably won't play for us as long as he's in Turkey as if he plays for us he'll take up a foreign spot in the Turkish league. He had an assist today and he seems like he can be a nice addition for us especially for the long term. The more I look into him the more i'm being convinced that he can be a great addition.

Other guys that should be in the mix to be called up is Luis Hasa who is playing decent for a mid table Serie B team. He's not good enough for the starting 11 yet but a call up for him you're thinking about the next qualification cycle. And he's obviously never going to be Italy material.

Nelson Weiper, Arijon Ibrahimovic are still probably another 2 years away before they'll consider. And Gruda is probably 4 years.

The good thing about Albania is there's always diaspora players wether it's Kosovar diaspora, Albanian Italian Diaspora, German Kosovars, etc. They will always be there.

What is this excuse???

Turkish teams are allowed to have 14 foreigners in their squad and it's not like he's a bum, he's a guaranteed starter there so what's the problem?

So this guy doesn't want an international career so he can meet the 14 foreigner quota at his club... You know how insane that is? Just say you want to play for Turkey.. Nobody will be mad. Guy is probably a Turk anyway.

There seems to be some conflicting reports. Some say he rejected a call up by Sylvinho and some are saying he never received a call up. It's hard to to tell with Albanian media because there's so much unprofessionalism and narratives involved. With the quota it's probably a more of a concern for the top 4 clubs. A team like Galatasaray could probably easily meet that quota of 14 players. But I suppose if he's good enough it won't stop them anyways.

And he seems like atleast half his grandparents were ethnic Albanian. He can also play for Kosovo and North Macedonia. He's probably going to wait for a chance to play for Turkey at this point since he's young enough and breaking out.

I just checked on transfermarkt and his club Goztepe has 16 foreigners in their squad. This includes a bunch of trash foreigners who they don't even use and could easily be gone. It's just a bad excuse.

The player limit is more of an excuse for a team like Galatarasaray or Fener which utilize all their foreign spots and are able to bring in quality foreigners. I'm actually surprised on the quality of players some of these teams can bring in. I'm guessing Kurtulan has aspirations to play for one of the mega clubs in Turkey and having that domestic spot makes a transfer that much more logical & easier. A mid tier team doesn't care about it probably.

But on the other hand he has a decision because playing for Albania could elevate his profile even more. I think he's just waiting on Turkey

Iniesta couldn’t succeed at Torino, the club of R9..

Hopefully he makes a better impression with Besiktas..
