Albanians abroad

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

Uzuni has matched Rey Manaj's whole season when he played in the 2nd division. Truly horrid player.

Another Anis Mehmeti goal today. Reja should've called him up. Stick him and uzuni on the wings with Broja up top, its the way to go.

^ Another nice one. He actually does this move often where he cuts inside.

Mehmeti is the only "amateur" Albania should make an exception for because his ball control is very rare by Albanian standards. I guess the question with him is if he can do it against stronger and faster defenders.

Mehmeti scored the opening goal at Derby in front of 27k fans (near 1k Wycombe supporters made the trip).

Anyone who regularly plays and does well in front that many fans is deserving of a look with the NT.

Mehmeti handled himself well when he was in the championship 2 seasons ago at 18/19 years of age. He’s atleast a championship caliber player and he really can’t control that his team isn’t very good. He’ll be back in the championship soon.

As for Uzuini just imagine if Roshi, Balaj or Lila was able to do what he’s doing in Spain albeit the second division. The Albanian journalists would having organisms 24/7

Idk about Lila but Roshi/Balaj have actually contributed to Albania more than Uzuni. Roshi has been our most consistent player in the last decade, and Balaj who was useful once, pretty much gave us our biggest upset in history that led to us qualifying to first ever tourney.

Uzuni just hasn't done anything "big" so far.

Uzuni has done nothing for the NT but at the same time in terms of ability and potential ability at the club level his ceiling is like quadruple all those guys listed. Just struggles to show anything for Albania because very poor under pressure and has no confidence. It will be tough to beat Roshi's contribution, the guy is one of our best performers ever, but other two he certainly can.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see him turn out a respectable mid table starter or similar in LaLiga, and if he could actually finish, could even play for clubs better than that. However at 26 time is running out for him to consolidate and actually start contributing, I hope this time in Spain is what can flip a switch.

Are you saying that because Myrto is a gypsy?

Because they are all superliga products....

Uzuni deserves 0 praise for what he has done so far. He went to La Liga he gagged. With the NT he gags by missing sitter after sitter. He still has a lot to prove as a player. Those other names you mentioned have done big things. Roshi has at least 20 goal contributions for Albania.

Inter lose 3-1 to Udine. Great. Now Inzaghi can get sacked and we will be able to see more if it was him being a dinosaur or Asllani not being good enough.
