Reja's system is a disaster because we have no wingbacks who can provide width going forward. If we had some wing backs who can atleast do that pressure would be alleviated from the midfield offensively. Combine that with two forwards (Cikaleshi and Manaj) who are terrible goal poachers it's no wonder the team offensively is a mess. Even if you put Luka Modric in this midfield I don't think he'll be able to fix it. A team needs balance and we just don't have it. Hopefully, Broja, Bajrami, Balliu can provide some instant fixes and maybe some others can help out like Asllani.

Although not seeing much from a defensive perspective.

The work ethic and willingness is there defensively which is the most important thing. He just needs to learn when to/NOT to do certain things like press, tackle, etc. I think that's a matter of experience. He just needs to play more with seniors.

But you can tell he'll be a starter for Albania for years to come.

Ideally you want some long legs in midfield to reach for tackles and win some aerial duels like a Gjasula but Gjasula is also slow as shit and struggles with basic passes at times, especially when pressed. It's a give and take scenario.

High level tall midfielders like a Valverde or Milinkovic Savic are extremely rare even by world standards, nevermind Albanian.
Bad combo of features like I mentioned. I didn’t even realize Gjasula was 6”4 cause he just wasn’t that imposing. All I remember from him is endless yellow cards and losing ball under pressure.

Cannot expect to pull of upsets against real teams by trying to hold possession, which Reja learned the hard way.
Lol, you’re making the ability to pass into a negative. De Biasis anti football can only take you so far.

We rode a motivation high for a few years but that’s not a long term strategy. Motivation will eventually run out.

We're in 2021 ... you don't progress by playing anti football. Guys like Asllani will take us to the next tier of football.

One thing about this Southampton team is that they are selfish af. They only pass as a last resort. Seems like the only chance Broja has of scoring is by stealing the ball on his own and bulldoze through.

Bruh. Wonderkid. What a strike. You can see he picked that corner...calmly looked up, saw the opening and slotted a rocket home.

His shot is insane. A goal like this was always a matter of time.
