Oddsmakers are treating Albania like a Malta or Moldova. Hopefully it's not a blowout like they indicate. Albania has the talent to be a competitive team. Just needs to learn how.
Correct , there’s enough talent in the right areas to where we should be expecting to keep it competitive . Not expect to win, but not write it off as a loss like we used to do.

No matter who will be next coach with central defenders we have it will be impossible for us to play with back four. Djimsiti is clearly more versatile than Kumbulla but still in two matches Gasperini played this season with 4-2-3-1 he was benched for a reason. Roma was using 4-2-3-1 also when they got massacred by Bodo Glimt and Kumbulla had worst game of his career. Until they start playing in such system at their clubs, defence with two central defenders will remain pipedream for us.

Kumbulla has improved since that Bodo game. So much that Mourinho trusts him on the sides of the defense. Before he only dared to play him in the center.

Definitely not expecting a win but this team should not be losing by 3+ goals. These are not superliga players.

via Bet365..

Most likely outcome is 2-0 home win at +400.

Spain (~52%) slightly favored to cover AH -2.0

Over 2.5 (~57%)

Both teams to score (~31%)

Last time Spain hosted Malta in November 2019, they were slightly favored to cover AH -4.0, with most likely outcome 4-0 (+550 Bet365).

Albania is not receiving that level of disrespect. :zgerdhimje:

^ Italy-Macedonia odds are a good example that Albania is disrespected. The European Champs are only -500 favorites to beat Macedonia in a must win game while Spain is -900 to beat Albania in a friendly. And keep in mind that Macedonia has half the value of the Albanian team and they are starting random Slovakian league strikers.

What people don't realize is that this is a bad sign that Albania will absolutely get demolished. I think Spain were -600 favorites a few days ago.

North Macedonia lost only 1 match in their last 7.

Hope they will give a good performance tonight in Palermo.

Check that run and tell me what result is impressive , its a easy group ...

If you include Euro 2020, they have 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses.

The wins are against Armenia, Lichtenstein and Iceland

I was thinking, after Reja goes (hopefully soon), instead of going for some coach looking for a final pay day why not go for a guy from a big nations U21 setup. The Portugal u21 coach for example, they have a fantastic record and a guy like that has experience in the international scene + is young enough to have the drive to excel. What do you guys think ?

Bardhi and Ademi have been brilliant for NMKD.

Solid first half by North Macedonia.

Got into a bit of trouble trying to play out the back though. Better to clear it in those situations at such a strong opponent. Now comes the real test as the players will be tired..

Odds pretty much indicated that this game would be competitive. Everyone and their mom bet on Italy thinking it would be easy.

Macedonia is one stubborn team. You can see their backline is completely amateurish but they are playing their hearts out.
