Fascinating stuff happening in Albania right now. USA ( in reality Soros Foundation) wants to put Meta and Berisha in prison through a judicial reform, where Americans will vet all Albanian judges. Meta pretty much admitted this yesterday. Politicians have been getting away with shit because of corrupt judges. Yesterday, Ilir Meta's main corrupted judge left the country with her family. But now Americans want to vet all higher up judge appointments.

Meta now threatens Rama with breaking off the coalition, and aligning with PD to overthrow the government, so the reform doesn't pass. The Americans have a foot to their throats, and they can't do shit.

I'm scared to be honest. Berisha and Meta will put the country into a civil war before they end up in prison. This isn't like Ponta in Romania, or that Croatian PM, who quietly go to prison.

Albanians are way too philoAmerican for Meta and Berisha to even try to think to go against them. It would be political suicide.

Anyway, this reform is a farse. I think that for the first time in my life I agree with Berisha. To give up the giudiciary system to a third party (America in this case) is a thing to be seen only in protectorate countries that politically counts less than Lichtenstein.

Rama should accept the compromise of Berisha, they agree on all level except for who will nominate judges.

In this way the judiciary system would be less politicized (read:less corrupted) and at the same time no third party would control us.

This judicial reform is a joke. In Kosovë they are trying to give power to shkije and a chunk of land free to Montenegro. That is real problems. Now if we had real intellectuals in charge, Albania would stand up and say we won't allow this. This is the real problem, not some judicial reforms. They will vet the higher up judge appointments, do detailed background checks, check criminal records, and then they will start to check people's wealth. A judge making 1,000 euros a month, shouldn't have properties worth 3-4 million. People who are against this, just don't know how corrupt the judicial system is. First off, you have to pay like 200 thousand euros just to get a spot. Secondly, they're letting our murderers, drug dealers, and actually working with them in some cases, for "bakshish". You can buy any decision to go for you with money under the table.

Research Victor Ponta and Ivo Sanader, and you will see what these "reforms" will eventually lead to. You are saying they "won't take over" but this is exactly taking over. All these things you mentioned could be done by Albanians, so why in your opinion is it necessary that Americans alone do it?
It may not be evident, but Berisha and Meta are cornered, they are too coward and petty criminals inside their souls to to even dare to go against the Americans. They know that the age of unlimited impunity is coming to an end, and they have accepted it (as I said they are too coward to dare to oppose the Americans) that's why they are compromising. What they really fear is to go in prison for past crimes.

The judiciary system is in the hand of the opposition, and by mean of this reform, the power would switch to socialdemocrats like Rama, defacto giving an end to the Berisha-Meta incursions against the Albanians. But a judiciary system in the hand of Rama-Americans is as equally bad as a judiciary system influenced by Berisha-Meta.

The best interest for the Albanian people is for Rama to accept the deal of Berisha, and Americans staying out from matters that are of no concern to them. In that way the the judiciary system would be way less politicized.

Are you for real man?? Why do Americans need to vet judges? We had one of the biggest drug dealer in the Balkans who Meta appointed in charge of Greek-Albanian border control. We have guys like Rroshi who were charged with gang rape and drug dealing in Italy/Switzerland and they're mayors of towns. Fatmir Mediu killed 50 people with his stupidity in 2009 and he's still a politician.

In reality, all Rama, Meta, and Berisha fight in public but wink at each other in private. If Rama wanted to, he could put half of PD behind bars, by bribing judges. Again, stop believing Sala's bullshit. This reform has nothing to do with Rama, or Americans picking judges.

Yeah at this point literally the only way to get rid of corruption unfortunately is through a third party. It's far too embedded into the judicial system. It would be like asking a cancer patient to remove their own tumor..

Case in point. Here's a series of events that actually happened:

- Know a "friend" who works at a farm
- Underground, beneath said farm, they're also growing weed a.k.a mini lazarat
- "Friend" is unaware and is arrested while working in the actual field as well as all workers found underground
- Owner of the property is not present, but his son is there and arrested
- Important note: Edi Fucking Rama was at the inauguration of this farm(keep in mind for later).
- My "friend" doesn't pay anyone because he/his lawyer truly believed he was innocent
- Be detained for 3 months without trial
- At the date of trial, everyone who didn't pay is sentenced to 12 months.
- The son who was arrested, walks free
- The owner of the FUCKING weed farm never even goes to court. Walks free

Our system is entirely fucked unless someone comes in and shakes it up for us..The only people who ever get caught in Albania are either too poor or don't know anyone i.e. little fish. When's the last time you ever recall a big criminal getting arrested? That should tell you how corrupt/poisoned our system is..

Exactly. The hardest part of this reform is that it's become so out in the open that it's accepted at this point. Like you said, I also know legit drug dealers who have been legitimately arrested only to walk because they paid 10,000 euros between the judge, prosecution, and arresting officer. Every Albanian knows these kind of stories.

Our system is a joke. Personally, I'm desperate for someone like USA and Brussels to clean it up for us..
