Stupid tackle by Ibrahimi but Partizani did very well against a very good side as Redbull. I am very impressed by Ramadani who is doing really good and improving match after match. It is pity that today Partizani played even better than against Ferencvaros. Trashi services from set pieces was absolutely terrible.Aurora Bulkualis wrote:0-0, opponent is 1 man down and barely threatening, and Ibrahimi concedes a penalty at the very edge of the box. Amateurism at its best. I'm actually surprised they played as "well" as they did considering RBS has played in EL knockout stages before.
Anyhow, as I said, this tie was over before it began. They better hope to get some easy opponent in EL play-offs. EL group stages would be a great experience.

This was a golden opportunity missed because Salzburg was begging you to beat them... but predictably you beat yourself.
That's the thing though.. You can't expect players of Partizani's level to stay mistake-free against an experienced opponent like this. They'll eventually make amateurish blunders that will cost you the game even when they seem to be playing well. That Ibrahimi performance was Dallku's NT career in a nutshell. He appears to be playing well, looks impressive in his tall physique and then makes the most needless, amateurish brainfart that costs you the game.

Well that's football for you, someone will usually make a defensive mistake for the other team to win. I mean look at England and their highly paid professional players playing like utter crap vs. Iceland.
I have to admit I didn't watch he whole match but during the portions of the game I watched Partizani more than held its own against the Austrian champs. This was a heartening performance that one we can build on. RB should not have won that game but then again that's football for you. Overall I can't say I'm unhappy. Çunat played their hearts out, that's all I can ask from them.

Thanks Berti but I'm not sad at all, I liked the fact that they tried and gave it their best shot. That's all one can ask from their team. It's important to use this campaign to challenge Skenderbeu for the title, which is very achievable now I should say.

No more bullshit results, no more first/second round disqualification. All of this with no oil money.

They already accomplished more than anyone expected them to by eliminating the Hungarians but Salzburg was so pathetic that this felt like a huge opportunity missed to have another Albanian club in the group stages for the 2nd year straight. That would've been great for Albania.
Thing about Partizani is that they just needed a little bit more talent imo. If they had 2 or 3 better attacking players.. a striker and 1 or 2 other wingers they would be in good shape. Their GK and defense(except Kalari, don't like him) are ok. Just a few legit attackers and a LB would make this a decent team.

There's still the EL play-offs. They better hope they get a Lithuanian team or something.
The sad thing is Partizani still hasn't won a game. It's been 3 ties and 1 loss so far.

During match Redbull was impotent to be dangerous in front of goal, they did lot of pressure and played fast passing game but was unable to find spaces. It was obvious that Salzburg is different level compared to Ferencvarosi but in In terms of chances even hungarians and slovakians created more than austrians. Most of people were bashing Ferencvarosi and Slovan as 'weak' teams but nobody gives a credit to Partizani for what they did. Partizani made those teams look weaker than they really are because they were well organized and very physical team who can run a lot and frustrate the opponents. I am very thrilled with players effort, they gave absolutely everything and maybe some of them did some stupid blunders but we should understand those players have no experience at all in european competitions. Those stupid blunders could be repeated also in Salzburg but i am more convinced that Partizani will make life very difficult for austrians if Redbull underestimates us.Plako wrote:Aurora Bulkualis wrote:There's still the EL play-offs.
