Attack is the best form of defence they say, Rama as an arrogant politician is very good at it and at dodging questions too! He's no different to the old school of Albanian politicians.

You guys from Albania, can you tell me whether Rama's economic policies have been a success? - Is Albania better than when he took over. Better in the sense that it wouldn't have been the same with another one being PM of Albania?
- Because all he's doing right now is to talk about nationalist issues, which is a sign that he wants to deflect any other *real* issues.

His arrogance is off putting at times but sometimes it's necessary to deal with the idiots he has to deal with.

The GDP growth has slightly recovered from Sala's time when it was in complete freefall, but it's still largely terrible due to lack of foreign investment + massive corruption. The guy then had to resort to filling the entire country with cannabis to keep poor rural areas from leaving for asylum.Migjeni wrote:You guys from Albania, can you tell me whether Rama's economic policies have been a success? - Is Albania better than when he took over. Rama is a bit like Trump. It's all a giant photo op for him. It's all smoke and mirrors. Never take anything he says at face value. He's just trying to get more votes with this pseudo-nationalistic b.s.

He's Albania's PM and it feels like he's doing the opposition with how much he attacks. I'm failing to see the difference between him and S.Plako wrote:vata10 wrote:Attack is the best form of defence they say, Rama as an arrogant politician is very good at it and at dodging questions too! Imo, Vv militants are active the whole time while the Pdk & Ldk militants only when it's time for elections.
From my visit last month I got a feeling that the country is stagnating economically and there is very little hope that things will get better. Don't think Edi's is using nationalist issues to deflect that is what some people are arguing to make it look like he's trying to deflect. If you follow his page on FB he always visiting cities all over Albanian to see how his Rilindja Urbane projects are going on. His main gambit has been to fix up our deteriorating public spaces and I think he's been successful to a degree.Migjeni wrote:You guys from Albania, can you tell me whether Rama's economic policies have been a success? - Is Albania better than when he took over. His main achievement I'd say is his foreign policy in positioning Albania as a peacemaker in the region. Also traffic law enforcement has improved dramatically which means nobody drives any more without seatbelt or drunk. This used to be a huge problem a few years ago where traffic laws were completely disregarded. I only bring this up cause that's a change that is noticeable as a visitor unlike economic progress for which you need stats and not anecdotal evidence.
