Yes, Skenderbeu was also a PK shootout away from making the EL stages back in 2013/14.

Congrats to Skenderbeu though. Easily the most professional team in Albania. Every other team fires their manager midway in the season and reshuffles their whole first team with random Superliga players every summer. You need to spend the money to keep your core together and that's what they did with Shkembi, Shehi, Lilaj, Berisha, Latifi, Vangjelli, NImanga, Arapi, etc. Their starting lineup today was basically the same lineup they used all year last year with the exception of Salihi and the Brazilian dude and many of the guys have been on the team for a few consecutive years. Good scouting by them for signing the Kosovar Superliga players who payed huge dividends on their success this past year.

The other Superliga teams don't seem to grasp that concept. Ex partizan fired Duro in 2013 then rehires him in 2014.

But the prize money for the Champions league and even the Europa league is insane. Look at the CL prize money
First Qualifying Round: €200,000
Second Qualifying Round: €300,000
Third Qualifying Round: €400,000
Play-offs Eliminated: €3,000,000
Play-offs Winners: €2,000,000
Base fee for group stage: €12,000,000
Group match victory: €1,500,000
Group match draw: €500,000
Round of 16: €5,500,000
Quarter-finals: €6,000,000
Semi-finals: €7,000,000
Losing finalist: €10,500,000
Winning the Final: €15,000,000
Even if Skenderbeu gets eliminated in the playoffs they still would have earned nearly 4million euros. That's not including the money they'd receive in the Europa league. They could build elbasan arena with that money

I seen that and I was going to post it but I was waiting after the second leg and Skenderbeu to fully get into the play offs mos ta bejmë tamam shqiptarce me peshkun në ujë edhe tiganin në zjarr. But yea they would be set for a while with that prize money. They could easily build a second team just for Albanian superleague. I also heard a rumor that they are in discussion with Migjen Basha and just like Salihi he had agreed that if they make it into Europa League group stage he would join them with a 6 month contract.

It would be amazing and competitive having Skenderbeu in champions or Europa league group stage with a lineup like:
Shehu
Arapi Osmani Ajeti Vangjeli
Basha Lilaj(Nimaga)
Latifi Shkembi Berisha
Salihi

Thats some type of Albania B-/C+ right there.

In other news according to Panorma-Sport Kukesi borrowed Flamurtari first goalkeeper Lika for the next two games. This is a guy who got suspended for 3 month from FShF for fixing a game in the Albanian Superliga. I see two reasons for this move:

1. They don't have a strong second goalkeeper since the Moldavian dude has done very well so far and I don't see him getting replaced. So he is just as back up in case something happens to their first goalie.
2. They lose the first game Thursday and have an experienced keeper in fixing games to fix the return leg in Poland to make some money. So if after a bad first leg result I see this guys name on the return leg I'm betting my house on Legia 1-1/3+.

Lmao, that's gold. Kukesi also just lost Pejic to some Iranian team. I guess they figured they had no shot in qualifying, they are making some euros tomorrow for sure.

Well it looks like game will be abandoned and Legia will get 3-0. Kukesi's fans threw something at Ondrej Duda that left him with a cut in his face. Disgusting tbh. Both teams should be banned from Europe or at least their fans.

Does this in any way affect Skenderbeu playing the return leg in Elbasan Arena?

I don't see how it affects it. Different competition, different league.

Before social media pseudo-nationalists start criticizing Serbia, they should take a long hard look at themselves.
