With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

Am I the only one who thinks Bajrami was incredibly shit besides that first minute goal??? Like Seferi levels of shit?
He often slowed the attack down in counter attacks and made the wrong decisions, attempted so many 1v1 dribbles when he lost pretty much all of them, no pressing or defensive effort at all.
Yeah, he was really really bad at takeons specifically. I guess its just clear for me that he is not that kind of high volume player who would play on the wing and progress the ball, he's a 'magic man', if you give him good chances around the box he can produce you some special moments sometimes but not that involved in the rest of the game.
I wonder if it would be different if Hoxha just played there as a more traditional winger and Bajrami could come inside.
^^ As a chelsea player who has trained with world class players for years he knows talent and knows an injustice was made by Sylvinho.
Albania is a team that needs to build around these two not them two trying to make themselves fit in. If Sylvinho stays I hope he stops doing favors to his friends and just plays the best players. The charity Euros are over.

Muci didn't deserve to play this time. He's on 3 goals and 0 assists in 13 games in the league that supposedly is full of farmers.
We can appreciate their talent but we should also not make excuses for these guys, they could easily force their way into the lineup with better form at club level.

We're talking about the guy who put 3 goals past Aston Villa, who finished Top 4 in EPL? Wingers are not strikers. Their main job is to beat defenders by dribbling and provide width.
Although to me either him or Hoxha would have been good. It's a shame that we got Bajrami as a winger instead.

Every player has their moments. But he rarely shows them consistently. He should be doing much better in Turkey especially considering that he plays for Besiktas.
If he isn't scoring and isn't assisting in that league you have to question why. It could be that he's in development but that would also say he isn't ready to start.
He should be getting at least 15 G+A playing winger in that league next season. If he doesn't have end product in Turkey he will not have it at better levels. I'm not saying he can't get it, but that we should expect that of him before we start saying he should be a guaranteed starter. He isn't proving it.
Hoxha is different in that his profile is not really that of a goalscorer but for Muci he doesn't contribute that much to the game. He is pretty inactive, doesn't defend much and doesn't carry the ball long distance, his profile is more final third, it is not a good sign if he can't score or assist. I would also say Hoxha looked overall better in the limited amount we've seen from him.

I think he plays as a deep playmaker for them but it doesn't matter because we don't know the ins and outs of that team. Maybe in their system he's not meant to score a lot. Either way he's a guaranteed starter for Besiktas and their fans love him which isn't a small thing.
Teams don't spend 10 million on a player for no reason. That alone tells you that he's quality and Albania doesn't have the luxury to keep 10 million players out of their team. That's what it comes down to. Build around your most talented players.
Muci isn't a goal scorer. He's an attacking player probably best as an attacking midfielder. Great first touch and has good vision and short passing. Silvinho should have experimented more with Muci during the friendlies especially having him in front of Asllani and Ramadani. I guess you can make the argument that defensively Muci might struggle which is fair but are guys like Asani, Bajrami and Manaj any better?
Unfortunately for Muci, Albania is not used of technical players like him so they don't know where to fit him. Instead they prefer the goons and the misfits. Guys like Seferi, Manaj, Cikaleshi, etc who don't have any technical skills or pace but are perceived as "strong" players.
It's so frustrating supporting Albania because they have constantly made the most amateurish lineup choices over the past 6 years that no other national team would do. Sometimes I think Armando Duka and his FSHF buddies secretly make the lineup choices.
