That was a bad performance. There was a few times our guy were tackling eachother for the ball. Everytime one of our players received the ball it felt like they just got a hand grenade.

We still cant get someone to play in midfield that's able to string two passes together, instead we got Cikalleshi coming up asking for the ball, being selfish or managing a horrible pass.

I really think this is the worst generation of footballers, mediocre swiss league players coupled with random one to two decent players and the rest below average.

Abrashi was terrible, Ajeti and Agolli were mediocre. Gashi looks like a shadow of himself. All he did was one good run in the first half, and was invisible + shaky defensively. De Biasi bringing in Sadiku was the most wtf moment of the game. We had 3 midfielders that were having an off day, he reduces it to two, to bring Sadiku over Balaj??? Where the hell was Kace, we had 0 creativity.

These type of performances are what makes me wonder if we're ready for EUROs. Yes, the result is somewhat positive, but with this gameplay 9 times out of 10 you come out the loser, and against Spain and Germany you get humiliated.
Absolutely agree. Our defense held up once again as usual so that's honestly the only positive I can take from this game. Also, It looked like a lot of our players were nervous. I'm scared this type of performance will be followed by a series of losses but I'm interested to see how we respond. Hopefully, being back at home will put some more confidence in our players. We had a few good chances and failed to capitalize. We have to work on finishing. We'll make a few good sharp passes and then jsut throw it away right after. Have to work on that also. All in all though, not disappointed since Denmark has better players than us but let's hope the team doesn't deflate after this.

Tactically we played almost perfect match because Denmark had just one clear chance. It is very positive that we can win points away from home and when we are missing key players as Mavraj and Hysaj.I think Djimsiti is better defensively than Agolli so i hope tonight he did enough to convince De Biasi to prefer him against Portugal, his passing accuracy was impressive tonight.

In reality, it's probably that all the other teams have gotten worse, rather than us becoming strong. Denmark won the Euros in the 90s...Portugal has Ronaldo, ok, but I'd rather have Figo, Deco, Rui Costa, etc... than just a top 2 player in the world.

Most of our players barely make the benches at their clubs, and Kace, one of the few that is playing on a decent top team, scores a free kick against France, the biggest opponent we've beaten, and doesn't even get a minute the next game.

True, but they were also missing their star player.

This what I'm saying, most of our players are bench players, swiss leagues, azeri leagues, croatian, turkish league. We have barely any players in top leagues of europe. Before at least we had players in bundesliga and serie a.

Also I agree on Kace, maybe saving him for the Portugal match?

I honestly think this is our greatest generation of players. This current team has the deepest player pool in our history. I mean we were missing two our best players today and we were able to replace them admirably. Most importantly these current players are more "professional"(even if I hate using that term) as they are more consistent.

I also think we tend to hype up our past players. But I really can't speak for teams pre-2004 if that's what you're referring to. Just don't think Skela or Lala were that great. Not sure Skela would even start on this team.

I don't think that De Biasi was saving Kace for the Portugal match but he clearly trusts Abrashi more than Kace. Kukeli once again does good enough to save his spot on the team.

On the bright side at least third place is guaranteed.

This is easily the best defensive line+goalkeeper we ever had. Although Agolli is shaky but in general we never had so much professionalism and options in the back-line.

Midfield and up we have downgraded.. lets not kid ourselves. That passing stat albo-eagle posted where Albania is one of the worst passing teams in Europe on par with San Marino says it all. The current midfielders are super awkward on the ball while the likes of Lala, Skela, etc were playing tiki taka at times. In striker position I think Cikalleshi is much inferior to the likes of Tare, Bogdani.

I think the defense+goalkeeper are the main reason for the current success and the midfield(although no technical ability) are hard workers who do the dirty work and help the defense. That's all they can do.. really.
