Donis Avdijaj

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

lol he's not 1/5 of Januzaj's talent

He's a decent talent by Albanian standards though but belongs in the u21 not the senior team. He's on par with Valon Ahmedi, Cekici, and co.

If he is on par with those guys, then why is Germany so concerned with him? Why is he worth 50 million Euros? Why is he being labeled the next Schalke wonder kid? There is something more to this situation then we think. He's 18 years old, and of course is not as good as Januzaj right now, but De Biasi needs to cap these talents. Sure he might not pan out, but we're in no position to fiddle around with players like Avdijaj. We can't settle on average/below average talent, we need quality, and the fact that Donis and his family wanted him to play for Albania and the fact that he knows the language unlike Januzaj and co. makes this case truly unique.

I would call him up to the senior team in a heartbeat. He is not very patient, and has displayed a competitive ego, which is a good thing and a bad thing for us. I just don't want us to gamble with this guy, because we have done so in the past and we know how that turned out (G. Xhaka, Shaqiri, Januzaj etc.)

Regardless if you think he's the next Januzaj or not he should be capped as a precautionary. In reality he probably doesn't merit a senior NT call up but it's not like he's taking away a roster spot from a more worthy player and there are far worst players on the NT atm. Big deal if Vila, Bulku or some random Superliga scrub who are worst players get dropped. To add to the argument he's also a forward which is our thinnest position. Other NT's also will go out of their way to cap a promising player just to avoid the risk of losing him

Just call up the kid and maybe he responds positively to it on the club level as well. There's literally nothing to lose..

I do hope Gymcity gets capped. Now he can be a day 1 starter for us at possibly LB

I agree as capping Avdijaj is a no risk/potentially very high reward.

Also, Gym plays LB? I thought he was more of a CB, slower, but stronger type of defender.
Really any one of Aliji, Hadergjonaj, Gym, would be a boost to the team. I would be very happy if they all get called for the next game.

He's primarily a CB but apparently he's a very physical/strong defender with good quickness for a player of his stature. I remember some posters here were praising his technical ability and his ability to get forward in the EL matches he featured in. I think Zurich plays with a 3 man backline so he might have experience in pushing the attack.

I just think he's perfect for Di Biasi. Problem is Agolli's left foot is very underrated even if he can be a liability against speedy wingers.

Wow , was he really that bad? I mean Austrian bundesliga a place where Salihi was scoring left and right all seasons.

How did he play in the 30 minutes today? De Biasi went to see him.

Kinda agree here, how is possible that this guy is not all time starter and haven't scored yet?

Damn it , cannot find any stream nor highlights of Sturm Graz match. Anyway , rumours of De Biasi calling Avdijaj must have something true on it otherwise he wouldn't go there.
