Well, yes. Doesn't help that Saudi Arabi is propped up by the US and in a return Saudi Arabia can promote wahabism all around the globe with their endless funds with little to no percussion.

Kinda like if Albania all of a sudden had huge reserves of oil and USA allows Sali Berisha to establish a monarchy and in return US doesn't give a f*** what he does as long as the oil is good.

I agree with Artan on this one. These people want a theocracy. That's what they're comfortable with. Even in "moderate" places like Egypt, 90%? of people say death should be the punishment for leaving their religion.

We can find a million faults with America or any Western nation, but the "average" is much progressive and open minded. Cherry picking is not really the point of the argument when it comes to massive droves of migrants..

The crux of the problem in a nutshell. Oh well as long as people get to stuff their faces with fast food, can get a new iPhone every two years and gas is as cheap as water nobody gives a flying f*** how many innocents die in the Middle East.

The Europeans have lived a relatively peaceful 70 years since the end of WWII. The Middle East has been the epicenter of most violent and prolonged conflicts post WWII. Yes I have to admit there is an undeniable role that Islam has played as a violent political ideology but it's not like Christianity is any better. We tend too look at this conflict from the prism of the West but if you look at it from a Moslem perspective you'd have a different view of things.

I never made this into a Muslim vs. Christian thing, just that their interpretation of their religion is very extreme, and it's not just a few fringe people. Most of the people want you dead if you leave their religion. It's punishable by death in many. That's against any notion of a democracy.

We look at it from the West, because this is where it happened. Don't like the west? Then go back to fucking Syria, Iraq, or whatever shithole. You fight terrorists there, US is wrong. You fight their dictators, US is wrong. You do nothing, they all protest that US is doing nothing, and Assad is killing hundreds of thousands. You bring them to the west feed them, educated them, they commit suicide bombings. You can't win with these people.

Anyhow, I doubt they will let this go easily. I predict we're going to see boots on the ground from NATO soon.

When I said you're looking at it from a Western point of view I meant you are shocked from this terrorist act that is designed to inflict the most damage upon Western civilians and grab attention of the western world. However, this type of carnage happens frequently in the Middle East and you just ignore because by now you've desensitized to Moslem deaths since they've been dying by the hundreds at a time for decades now. Scores were killed in Beirut two days ago yet no one gives a flying f*** about the carnage there.

Anyways it's useless arguing at this point. I hope the carnage stops and no more innocent blood is shed. It's a terrible terrible tragedy. I feel so terrible for the French since they are the one Western country that has tried to build bridges with the Arab world despite its colonial past.

Didn't even think about that. However the security measures will be pretty high and I believe they'll have sorted things out until then.
