Albanian minister of agriculture is an idiot. Finally he can see why albanians don't work anymore the fields because last time i saw him he was saying that the poor paisans were lazy . Only Lezha has been flooded 6 times since september. There is only one "hidrovor" in Tale and none in ishull-lezhe or shengjin as he states. And that single hydrovor is out of function because of an electric short circuit . He fucking blames the deforestation in Lezhe while Lezhe doesn't suffer from it , all the blame should go to the migrants and the state, the first ones because they ruined the canals by interrupting them by building dam like bringes every 100 meters and housing in river's bed, then the state because noone has invested on arginatures or rebuilding the hydrovors destroyed after the communist era. It will be raining hard for the next two weeks so i'm expecting catastrophic conseguences .

How can you not become nostalgic for communism, as horribly as it was applied in Albania, when you see the total destruction of the state in the last 25 years.

Idk about Lezha but deforestation is a huge problem when it comes to floods and landslides. Moronic villagers will go through an entire forest with an axe, and they'll pay LSI members in parliament to look the other way.Dams and power plants are the biggest issue imo. They supply 100% of electricity, but do so much damage by fucking up the river flows.

Btw, those are the gypsy settlements down by Bregu i Lumit in Tirana. I still don't understand how the federal government, doesn't find these people a home, but let's them live and shit there like it's the middle ages. Just fucking build some low-income housing or something.

A Kosovar film was nominated for an Academy Award. The director isn't a Kosovar though.

Is anyone following what's happening with the judicial reforms in Albania? Ever since they became an EU candidate, the country lost part of its sovereignty, and all the politicians have to answer to people above them and are being vetted hard.

US and EU ambassadors are extremely aggressive against corruption, and PD and LSI are pissing in their pants that with the new reforms half of them are going to end up in prison, so they're trying to stall and sabotage everything. In Serbia, they arrested like 90 ministers/ex-ministers/politicians in one day, and all of them now are squirming in fear that the same will happen to them.

I for one welcome the development and hope few politicians end up in jail. Our problem right now is not enough corrupt politicians are getting convicted for corruption.

Unfortunately the corruption in politics there is only a microcosm of that society as whole that functions based on bribes. I would say the judicial branch for example is much, much more corrupt than parliament or ministers, and that seems impossible. More than anything it's the everyday people themselves who have to take responsibility, and everything else will follow.

And this is also a must read, if curious about Kosovo's politics and it is mainly about Thaci and his click.

What's the title of the last book regarding Thaci and his crooks? - I tried to press the link, but it told me that the file wasn't to be found anymore.

Saw that they mentioned the Kanun in the first paragraph or so.

Do all western journalists think were some sort of mythological mountain warriors that abide by some code thousands of years ago?
