I think if we wouldn't capped Gashi he would be at least called up by Switzerland .

I like that Gashi is scoring in Switzerland and I would put him on the starting lineup, but scoring in Switzerland is still light years away from scoring in any top league. He didn't manage a single goal against Madrid, Liverpool, or Porto.

And if you look at all of Gashi's goals it does make you wonder... can he score goals like that for the NT?
Most of them are tap ins, horrible goalkeeper blunders. deflections, etc.
He has an eye for a goal no doubt but his goals are a bit on the vk side. They remind me of Salihi's goals in Austria. he used to score practically every week and they were similar goals.

That's pretty much our entire NT. The good thing is Armenia's defence is on Swiss level if not worse, so if DB starts him, I think he can at least get 1 goal over both legs.Dallku wrote:a bit on the vk side.

I think the idea of Gashi scoring tap-ins is starting to become a bit overblown. Yea, he does score some easy goals but that's probably because he's been scoring at a tremendous rate this season since November and has 8 more league goals than the second highest in Switzerland. As for the Salihi comparison Gashi is scoring a great amount from the wings while Salihi would poach them in as a forward. Salihi doesn't have the linkup play, the defense, or the ability to create his own shot like Gashi and yes Gashi has shown he's very good cutting in from the wing. I also thought his performance against Real Madrid was pretty good as well.Dallku wrote:And if you look at all of Gashi's goals it does make you wonder... can he score goals like that for the NT?

He scored a really nice FK from distance today which is something we've not seen from him yet.

Elseid Hysaj played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 win against Sassuolo. This win brings Empoli to 12th place, ahead of Udinese.
