Albania at EURO 2016

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

He is a well known football analyst at Sky and has good relationship skills. Atm the italian fa hasn't many choices because except to Capello the other coaches are busy or don't want to lead the national team into a wc qualifiers group with Spain in it. Then there aren't that much italian talents comming from youth teams which makes the atmosphere around the national team very gray. Add to this the fact that italians want only italian coaches and that De Biasi said repeatedly that "Who would reject a job like that if offered!" . We have passed in two months from "I've a contract with Albania untill 2017" to "If they give me the job then Albania will let me free" .

f*** that, I'm from Prishtinë but i know my history and i won't be swayed with this bullshit propaganda that Kosova is 'independent', my family and my country fought for this land to be a part of Albania and soon enough it will be. Anyone who supports Kosova as a country and Kosova as a football team aswell should go and live in serbia because his thinking is the same as the shkije. Turp for a Albanian team to be playing with blue and yellow colours, i do not know how anyone can support that.

Rashica is a patriot and will always play for Albania. Rroftë Shqipëria.

Well, there is a lot of rumor about it and there are the facts that he has had great success story with Albania and he is italian. Plus he also enjoys good reputation in Italy in last years (including some prizes in football). There is fierce competition and many other candidates for Italy but I would certainly not rule him out.

Why do you think he does not stand a chance?

Well, what other credentials does he have other than leading the rag-tag Albanian MNT? Italy usually picks coaches with a lot more impressive credentials...

As NYVirus said, GDB does not have any credentials other than qualifying for the Euros with us. We keep saying that he plays a defensive Italian style of football but I don't think hat's what the Italian FA is looking for in a coach. Not too mention that Italy is stacked when it comes to coaches. I can see GDB be in a short list of 5-6 candidates but no way he gets the job in my book.

I agree with you that unification should be the ultimate goal but for the moment recognition is a necessary evil. Right now Kosovar football is in no man's land. You have a whole generation of players not getting the proper training or exposure due to lack of the clubs participating in Europe. Imagine Prishtina playing in the CL. That'd be huge for the league's coffers. Money will be poured into the game and local football overall will benefit tremendously.

Look at how much Albanian from Kosova have achieved in football terms without any money. Imagine how much better they will get if they're participating in Europe.

Roshi is fucking failure, bench player in Croatia League so Rashica has already achieved more than Odise . I feel pity about Roshi because his athletic ability was unbelievable but he is peasant fierak that bought a Mercedes Benz and feel accomplished in his life and career.

Roshi will become a journeyman in the Eastern European leagues and will probably end up at Skenderbeu in 5-6 years. He will also have a guaranteed place in the NT for the next decade. He has made it :)

Roshi is already a journeyman I'm afraid. It's a matter of time before he goes back to Albania(same with Balaj).

But at Rashica's age Roshi was getting good minutes in Bundesliga. At that point "we" thought he was a huge talent with enormous potential so lets not make the same mistake with Rashica. He has a lot to prove and as I said, recently he has dropped his performance and some Vitesse fans are even demanding that he gets benched.

Problem with our "young talents" is that they just don't fvcking improve. Roshi is the same player he was at 18 as he is now.
