Unfortunately, matches are not decided by the amount of top leaguers rostered by a competing team.

If it was so, Israel would not be favoured to win group with most players from Liga ha’Al.

The reason we have so many 2nd division players is probably why Israel is favorite. Israeli league can't be worse than Turkish 2nd division, Hungary, Kawait, Serie D, etc.

Israel is not that bad. They have domestic players plus a Bundesliga regular starter, Celtic winger, Shaktar winger with a value of 20 million, Feyernoord gk...

Their defense does look amateurish though.

According to oddsmakers, those amateurs from the Israeli league are good enough to run over our lot of super professionals. By the way, Liga ha’Al is ranked below that of Cyprus.

Albania has enough top leaguers on list to make a full 11. Market value 2x that of Israel, but makes no difference in the scheme of things..

Albania has a bunch of amateurs in the team too... many of them who will probably get minutes.

Odds are based on public perception anyway. Casual fans don't see Albania and think of football powerhouse or know about our top leaguers. On the contrary Albania has a terrible reputation in football, on par with Moldova. Only results can change this perception.

In a match between Albania vs Israel your average person who knows little about either team would probably bet on Israel.

Manaj has a shoulder injury.
Broja has COVID.
Laci just had an operation on a persistent injury.
Bare is also injured.
Strakosha asked to not be called up until he finds a new club.

Lol. Well that's unfortunate.
Bare and Broja will be missed. The rest are whatever. I'm guessing we'll see more of golden boy Cikaleshi paired next to Vrioni which obviously won't work since it's like the same combo of Cika-Balaj but with Vrioni being an upgrade over Balaj. I don't get why Cokaj and Selahi aren't called up, need to give these guys a real look instead of Ramadani.

My lineup would be a 3-4-3 but I think it's too progressive for Reja.
----------Vrioni
-----Uzuini---Bajrami
-------Asllani-Gjasula
-Hysaj-Gym-Kum-Ismajli-Balliu
-----------Berisha

It's also hilarious the amount of second division players in this list. Roshi, Balaj, Ramadani are all second division players in Turkey/Hungary, Hoxhallaria/Seferi are Superliga players, on the wait list you have Ajeti and Haveri playing for semi pro teams in Italy. Is Ajeti on that list because FSHF was too lazy to find another player and just called it a day with him?
I think Reja will probably go with that lineup.

Winning Nations League group gives us direct qualification while coming second in our group we have to face playoffs. This is what ps writes, weird format though.

You can't qualify directly via the Nations League

Right, we’ll face playoffs. Panorama Sport journalists always stand out🤦‍♂️. We have to win the group so we don’t face teams from League A:

“Following the qualifying group stage, the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying play-offs will take place in March 2024. The participants of the play-offs will not decided based on results from the qualifying group stage. Instead, twelve teams will be selected based on their performance in the 2022–23 Nations League. These teams will be divided into three paths, each containing four teams, with one team from each path qualifying for the final tournament. The group winners of Nations Leagues A, B and C will automatically qualify for the play-off path of their league unless they have qualified for the final tournament via the qualifying group stage. If a group winner has already qualified through the qualifying group stage, they will be replaced by the next best-ranked team in the same league. However, if there are not enough non-qualified teams in the same league, then the spot will go first to the best-ranked group winner of League D, unless that team has already qualified for the final tournament. The remaining slots are then allocated to next best team in the Nations League overall ranking. However, group winners of Leagues B and C cannot face teams from a higher league.

The three play-off paths will each feature two single-leg semi-finals, and one single-leg final. In the semi-finals, the best-ranked team will host the fourth-ranked team, and the second-ranked team will host the third-ranked team. The host of the final will be drawn between the winners of the semi-final pairings. The three play-off path winners will join the twenty teams that already qualified for the final tournament through the group stage.”

The old system was fine, this nations league nonsense just puts money into UEFAs pockets and players are left to dry

The old system was just friendlies and these nations league matches replaced those friendlies.

What sucked is that the first Nations League system was flawed which resulted in Macedonia qualifying to the Euros by beating teams like San Marino and Georgia. I believe they fixed that now.. not sure. It still seems confusing.

Either way it's another path to qualifying. The worst thing Albania can do is not take it seriously. I bet against Israel the stadium will be more than half empty. That's a shame.
