This is why some here, and me, were saying, we should keep Sylvinho, did you really think they'd bring a better manager (if there is any available anyway)?

Sylvinho had proven to be a good fit, he knew the current playing squad and he probably had a long term vision. The players liked him. His results, on paper, are the best out of any Albanian coach. Despite having drawn and lost many meaningless games we have a win rate of 44% under him, which far exceeds any of his predecessors. That is before considering that he has played the hardest schedule of any of his predecessors, considering we were in the hardest Euros group in history, Nations League B, and had fairly difficult Euro and WC qualifying groups.

As I mention, we had then drawn and lost many meaningless games, for example, draws with Moldova and Faroe Islands once we had already secured 1st in the Euros group. In head to head encounters with our direct rivals we performed extremely well and were very unlucky not to knock out Poland in the playoffs despite important absences. We had the ball of the 2-0 on Bajrami's foot.

We seriously think the grass is way greener than it is if we believe there are many available managers who can better that.

If we were going to sack him, it should be to take a new approach, which for me means hiring an Albanian coach and seeing if that improves the dynamics. From the foreign based coaches, continuing with him was our best option.

400k-500k is roughly the salary of a relegation Serie A team's manager. But this guy wasn't even managing there when we hired him.

Another interesting thing is it's apparently us who called him. That is, he didn't apply for the job, we offered it to him. I wonder what has gone behind that decision, maybe they have done some technical scouting and think he is a good match? Or is that expecting too much of the federation?

Apparently half of the locker room was against him. Some players felt like they were done dirty(Ismajli, Muci, etc). One of the big reasons they didn't continue.

But it makes sense. NT managers are like batteries... You could tell the enthusiasm and energy wasn't the same as it was in the first qualifiers. It happened with De Biasi too. It's hard for a nt coach to stay long term no matter how successful they were at first.

Beating a shitty Serbian team that was desperate to sack their coach is not that impressive. You couldn't even beat Latvia twice or score 1 goal against England. That was one of England's easiest qualifiers ever which shows you what a cupcake qualifying group it was.

Getting relegated from Nation League, barely scoring goals and creating chances anymore, and finally getting beat by a Polish team you beat at the beginning when the enthusiasm and energy was high. And you can argue this Polish team in the playoffs was much weaker than the one you beat in the qualifiers.

Strakosha, Muci and Manaj are out due to injury. Asani wasn't called due to the coach's decision. Balliu asked for time because he's thinking about retiring from international football.

The appearances of Cristian Shpendi and Luis Hasa will be interesting. It will be good to evaluate Shpendi and see him play, maybe in the future he could start for us at striker.

Those who watched Serie B say Hasa is a serious talent and some of them were even saying he should return to Napoli and be in the first-team. That, or move to another serious Serie A team.
